There were several incidents from that early age of 3 and a half through until I was violently and repeatedly raped by the paedophile priest Kevin O'Donnell at age 8 on a trip the the little church at Caveat. It was during that day that I was forced back into the car with O'Donnell and had the car door repeatedly jammed onto my right foot. This injured that foot to the extent that I needed to wear special built up boots made by Don Nash (Paid for by Herbie); that injured foot still gives me problems today. The cover story was put out that I was pigeon toed and I imagine family members still think of that as being something real when in fact like so many instances of child rape by Catholic clergy there were many lies and fables told to cover for rapist clergy.
Herbie attempted to intervene via the Knights of the Southern Cross. He made arrangements with the Church for my needs in the future. He changed his Will to include my mother, myself and other family members.
A stockwhip is suitable when you are punishing the spawn of the devil
I was whipped by dad using the stock whip on me at the behest of the rapist O'Donnell.
I recall coming home from school and taking the stinger down to the chopping block and chopping it into small pieces. There was much anxiety among other family as they expected I would be punished again. Mum had had serious words with dad after another attempt at whipping me. That was one of those occasions where she spoke out strongly to dad and told him that she would leave and take her children with her if he did not stop beating her children as he had continued to beat Robert and I on a regular basis. I believe that was the turning point in his use of the whip and other implements to beat us with. Younger ones would likely not be aware of the amount of "discipline" that was used up until that time.
I also had to do chores and errands for the priest at the presbytery, as well I was told to go to the room where there was a large table with chairs all around it at the front of the presbytery where there were folders with colours on them and in them were a list of names. I was told to find my name there as that meant I was in need of punishing.
On one occasion I stole the list and hid it behind a loose rock in the embankment below the Church; I was put in the cellar and they closed the lid on me. I was supposed to stay there in the dark until I agreed to bring the list back. I had to sit on the stumps that were in there so that I was out of the water. They had to let me go as it had become dark and mum was out looking for me as I had not come home. She had sent others around asking where I was so they let me out and I was told to say nothing else my mother and father would be punished in hell forever and that I would be personally responsible for that..
John Brown was born in Yea Victoria 3717 on 27 December, 1948. John grew up in Yea, he went to the Catholic school on The Parade and then a final year at Yea High. He undertook an apprenticeship as a Hand and Machine Compositor/Linotype Mechanic at the local newspaper The Yea Chronicle who recently declined to publish anything on John's story. He left Yea after realising that the proprietor and local policeman Bill Ellisson along with other local Catholics in Yea and surrounds at that time were aware of his abuse and of the rape and abuse of other children in Yea and were aware of the many unreported issues surrounding the murder of Herbert Henry Kemp of ...... read more 1544748985 and more and more and Site Map
Investigation of an unsolved murder in 1962 can no longer be investigated according to police taskforce SANO because a pedophile Catholic clergyman who raped a child at age 8 is now dead. As a result of the dead rapist being unconnected with the murder Victorian police remain clueless.
Later in life John married in Toowoomba only to find that he was related to the then bishop of Toowoomba Bill Morris. Morris was the head of the bishops conference and was the go to person in the country for survivors of childhood sexual abuse by Catholic clergy and yet I was never able to get a time or a conversation with the bishop. I did get conversations or connection with a number of Catholic organisations with varying degrees of weirdness.
