Chapter 204 Lion's Mane, Vitamin B3, Microdosed Psilocybin some Robert Sapolsky, Stephen Porges & PolyVagal Theory

A Science Led Recovery or SLR is possible despite the persistent claims of clerics and religious of the need to return to the fold for the only available true healing.

Are people still that gullible these days?

Obtaining a suitably SLR informed GP and subsequent professionals is where survivors recovery difficulties begin simply because this level of education is not freely available in the general GP population which can take up to 10 years and unrelenting suffering for the survivor before valid diagnosis is reached. Survivor is the right word to use when you are faced with this depth of failure in the medical health world here in Australia.

Some areas of the science of recovery are certainly not everyone's everyday easily understood and accepted ideas. One thing can be certain and that is that the recovery mentioned here is all the product of evidence based research while the Church still flounders with its failed dogmas to even appease it's own members. May 2019 bring them more of the facts, the reality and the truth about the harms done and recovery for the millions across the globe who are directly affected by the Catholic Church failure alone.

As far as social failures go the cvhild rape crisis in the Catholic Church simply does not get any bigger than that and still they fail the majority on each new attempt.

With the journey of survival and recovery among the uncountable numbers of survivors of all kinds of abuse across the world and their journeys of recovery yet to see some of the historic barriers come down.

I recently listened to Paul Stamets on the Joe Rogan Podcast where they spoke of the beneficial effects of Lions Mane fungi. There is a lot more real science in the areas of PTSD and stress induced mylenation damage using psychedelics and other drugs with surprisingly good results yet we are yet to read of their potential in the world of recovery for survivors of institutional abuse.

Survivors and their wellbeing are still being shuttled down the same sullage pit as previously operated to under the cover up enabled through the biases of the DSM and the lack of evidence based science for its brain disease model that requires chronic dosing of anti-depressant and anxiety medications that are often experienced as more harmful than beneficial.

Horror of horrors brings us firstly to Magic Mushrooms. A sound place to start appears to be the Australian Psychedelic Society World first clinical trial for magic Mushrooms

Patients faced with the prospect of death very often suffer from mood and anxiety disorders (around 40% of patients). Current therapies have not been very successful in treating these disorders. The exception to these are therapies which take an existential approach - a style of psychotherapy which deals with how patients develop meaning in their life, rather than treating dysfunctional cognitions or behaviours. This is where magic mushrooms come in, as they have be shown to inspire mystical experiences in patients. These mystical experiences help patients establish meaning in their life whilst facing the the prospect of death, helping to alleviate their anxiety and mood disorders. World first clinical trial for magic Mushrooms

Being ignored by the institutions and left in the hands of an unprepared and inexperienced medical system that has a distinct dislike for engaging with such an emotional, sexual, political and religious issue that it remains not just a political hot potato but a medical one as well. The medicalization and pathologization of distress and social circumstances is an abhorrent circumstance to be forced into.

The wheels of this system fall off very easy

Pell's "enemies of the Church" describes how we were and in many instances we remain percieved as enemies of the state, defrauders of the health and support systems .

Then there is this "We aren't just a country where if you have a go, you get a go ... it's a country where differences are respected and indeed, they are celebrated," Mr Morrison said.

Amazing that we get to learn of how the Catholic Church in a previous failure set about outlawing a product that turns out to be helpful to survivors of childhood sexual abuse by Catholic clergy. It is amazing that you can safely say that the concepts discussed are only about one area of a Science Led Recovery for those who have given up on the notion of a recovery through the religiously affected systems available.

From my experience a general GP is certainly not the right person to conduct the management of your recovery. The process and journeys of misdiagnosis are legend and ongoing for many. Large numbers of them are simply provided with stronger and stronger medications while Christian raised or trained psychologists or counselors still tend toward returning you to your abuser as their only solution.

John Brown is the developer, author and publisher of Trauma in Religion a theory that describes the origin of the human rights abuses the Catholic Church inflicts on Catholic children. His interests include human rights for all Australians that should act as a clear boundary for all institutions regardless of an individuals thoughts on their favorite supreme being, gods, demons or spirits engaging in secular Australian communities; trauma and recovery and the crimes, criminal and psychological behaviours of the fearful bonded Catholics. John blogs erratically here on his personal experiences on a range of topics that interest him where he speaks when he has success or failures with professionals and has learned of the need for trauma informed and evidence based professional care. This experience has added to his interest that go on to include the many abuses of the continuing criminal cover up on his FAQyMe Gene blog and will shortly release his first FAQyMe podcast with Paul Levey on Paul's recent experience with mental health first aid. I like to be able to inform people of things that bring benefit and can relieve the psychological suffering that many Catholic children still suffer from daily as well many now elderly adults are confused as the truth of the criminal activity is exposed.

I found it was good advice with regard to recovery from trauma to explore your attachments and/or other relationship vulnerabilities and safely with evidence based trauma informed specialists or you can privately Learn the Science of Healthy Attachment Relationships in a safe, low cost self timed manner.

I researched the nerve growth factor found in the Lion's Mane fungi and take a daily capsule as a supplement. I have gained benefit from that .

I find the brain chemical, brain disease and medication model to be a flawed monster and the medication regime to be abhorrent and inhumane with a strong taint of cooperation with the covering up of child rape and other crimes.

I was fortunate enough to have obtained the services of Dr Julian Lim when he was working in Toowoomba but unfortunately we lost connection for a while. Reconnecting with an experienced and well qualified trauma informed evidence based professional make him the safest and the most knowledgeable I have engaged with and this has been transformational for me. Dr Lim has my full and confident recommendation. Dr Julian Lim
