A First Fleet descendant.
I have felt the failure and the oppression as a result of the chance of who sexually abused me as a child.
I was born just a few days after the Declaration of Human Rights came into being.
I heard of the White Australia Policy as a child and wondered at the discrimination; I saw the Princess when she visited and wondered why with all their wealth they could fix so many issues.
As a child I recall discussing this with a younger sister; we decided that the government should help provide every Australian with a home of their own to live in. There was no need for further discussion as that idea very simply was extended to those Aboriginal people that we knew and had heard of.
Not long after the Church was up in arms raging about abortion, homosexuals and contraception; threats of Hell and excommunication were rampant to the extent that even small children had been exposed to this mass form of blackmail, fraud and deception all the while hiding child rapists and influencing every legal decision whilst feeding greedily from the wealth of the people.
I experienced rape and murder, I saw the power of excommunication when it came knocking on our door after attempts to get the law to investigate a murder and the molestation of a younger sibling by a recently appointed Catholic clergyman.
I watched as religious bigotry and blackmail set about subverting the course of justice; my experience today is no different. Today on Australia Day I get to wonder at just how little progress has been made with regard the equality of women and their personal reproductive organs at every aspect of their functions argued over and regulated by delusional misogynistic men hiding child thieves and child rapists with the support of a bought legal system.
I saw the bloodied chin of Arthur Calwell; I also saw the hands of Adolf Eichman make the front page of the newspapers and I saw the same discrimination that was reserved for those who were not white men.
My family experienced the usual Catholic fracturing and toxic emotional based fantasy reasoning when it comes to human relations with most still deceived into a world of threat and despair of human suffering and human sacrifice entirely unable to communicate simply because of the threats made in their childhood.
I was dobbed by a bully brother via the confessional; so much for the notion that confession was nothing other than an information gathering mechanism that was used to further bully and intimidate and for some to gain unhindered access to children for their religiously inspired sexual aberrations.
At 14 I understood that I was not a part of the 98% of the population as I had no belief in an imaginary deity nor was I a part of the system that was to be afforded equality and justice based on my lack of religious connection.
What has changed in the intervening 54 years?
A work in progress over Australia Day 2017 - come back in an hour for my next update?
In the areas of human connection, respect and dignity for the rights of men, women and children to not become bounden to a religion without their fully informed consent. That this does not exist in 2017 leaves many aghast and breathless while others.
What is amazing is that even in the face of the evidence still coming from the Royal Commission the notion to fact check the origins of beliefs is the greatest omission by the Church and individual Catholics; their failure to face reality is now the blockage that prevents the elimination of the human rights abusing crimes that continue against poor defenceless children. Their right to self determination stolen the moment they are introduced to this toxic religion. Their right like the rights of Indigenous people pushed aside by complicit or compromised public officials who fawn over their religious connections while paving their way while transforming the gold of the people into a country of abeyance to mythology. A "normal Catholic" must exhibit abnormal social behaviour along with a comprehensive failure to understand what is real. Is there any wonder schizophrenia is the preferred diagnosis by those under the spell of delusion for those who choose to live a life as close as they can to reality. Without reality the crimes of their clergy simply pale away as forgivable sin; one of the primary causes of repeat offending by protected ritual rapists.
Australia - what has it done for me? Apart from allowing me to exist in a compromised manner when compared to that which is claimed by those leading us; not much. Justice is no closer even after we were drawn forward on the promises of support, before, during and after only to find that you are the wrong religion and you do not believe that a voted for unfounded philosophy of brain disease is actually beneficial. It has actively blocked the claims of many hundreds of thousands of sexually abused children since federation. I has actively acted against the original inhabitants and denied them status as a human being only to grudgingly add a mention in our Constitution - beyond that the ideals of the 1950s persist; they are just more sophisticated.
What have I done for my country??
Is it truly plausible that people can be compromised and kept in a perpetual state of fear from early childhood and on through all of adulthood today as a result of childhood indoctrination? Surely their Human Rights will have been breached if that is the case.

Human rights for Catholic children exist only if they remain bonded through the abusive practices of a culture with the longest history of war, rape, genocide and child abuse humanity has ever encountered.
Human rights do not exist in the Catholic religion unless the perceived rights of gods, demons, angels, devils, poltergeists and a myriad of other mythical creatures and superstitions are met to the satisfaction of those traumatically bonded to Catholicism through their own abusive childhood experience
