Ben Zeller - Thank you Ben for being the person you were. I will remember our conversations and your wishes and wants for those you loved and cared for and for the world in which you hoped we could all live in equally. You have been one remarkable person in my life and I am grateful for having known you. I am grateful than you found it OK to communicate openly and freely with me - that has been an honor that still cherish. I honor your existence and what you did achieve through remembering your wants for our humanity and what we found important in life through our conversations and as the caring person that I found in you. Everyone deserves to know one person in their lifetime who speaks with the truth of what has been real for them and you Ben did that often with me. Thank you for being you and thank you for being the best friend in the world for my son. I thank you again here as I have thanked you personally for not allowing the taint of my childhood experiences and its echoes through our lives from falsely colouring or tainting our relationship.

Alice Brown (for being the mother of my child )

Matters of Significance to me

The most important words I have ever spoken; these were to my son a few minutes after his birth "Between you and I always the truth".

Signing of The Universal Declaration of Human Rights in December 1948 and the role Australia played in that. My Grandfather was active in the Community with regard to the input Australia had on the declaration.

The public hatred and vilification of Lindy Chamberlain

The level of racism in Australia and the widespread lack of knowledge about Australia's first people.

The White Australia Policy

The ability for a policeman or policewoman to be comprehensively compromised and diverted from their sworn duty at the merest mention of punishment by members of the religion they belong to.

The over-riding of the Human Rights of the Child to reach adulthood in state where they can freely without fear of retribution choose a religion to follow if they wish to do so. Their right to this is stripped from them at the moment that they are introduced to the Biblical God or its counterpart of the Devil.

The lack of acknowledgement in government and community that indoctrination when carried out against children is child abuse.

The ability for people today to cling to absurdities that have no basis in fact. Today and child of 8 or 9 years could write a more just and more moral religious book than the Bible. It astounds me further that those who claim to be Catholic fail to acknowledge that according to Catholic doctrine today the Catholic Church holds with both the Old ad the New Testament as well as the Apocrypha Bible. Most would be reviled at the prospect yet they are bonded through trauma to see themselves as something that in really revolts them to the core. Only fear and trauma can cause such a toxic situation. orality and performance of duty are artificial measures that become necessary when something essential is lacking. The more successfully a person was denied access to his or her feelings in childhood, the larger the arsenal of intellectual weapons and the supply of moral prostheses has to be, because morality and a sense of duty are not sources of strength or fruitful soil for genuine affection. Blood does not flow in artificial limbs; they are for sale and can serve many masters. What was considered good yesterday can -- depending on the decree of government or party -- be considered evil and corrupt today, and vice versa.
But those who have spontaneous feelings can only be themselves. They have no other choice if they want to remain true to themselves. Rejection, ostracism, loss of love, and name calling will not fail to affect them; they will suffer as a result and will dread them, but once they have found their authentic self they will not want to lose it. And when they sense that something is being demanded of them to which their whole being says no, they cannot do it. They simply cannot.

This is the case with people who had the good fortune of being sure of their parents' love even if they had to disappoint certain parental expectations. Or with people who, although they did not have this good fortune to begin with, learned later  to risk the loss of love in order to regain their lost self. They will not be willing to relinquish it again for any price in the world.
