Feeling liberated

Michael Mormina MiMo

The past few days I have felt liberated as I posted a short version of my childhood sexual abuse at Morialta High School. Up until the other day I had held back on releasing details of my abuse because I was hoping that SAPOL would eventually charge and arrest the abuser.

This year makes 39 years I have waited for SAPOL to do something, anything even but no they do nothing at all.

What it seems they are prepared to do is victimise me everytime my annoying historical case comes up. This takes the form of harassment, or my family and friends being harassed for no reason, or direct criticism like deputy commissioners criticising me to the federal royal commission in order to escape an adverse finding.

For those who think I exist to criticise SAPOL think this instead I gave them every benefit of the doubt for 39 years but my soul could not be silent publicly anymore.

I know this abuser is offending overseas and DFAT is also aware of it but again nothing is being done. South Australia in my opinion is the worst state to be a childhood sexual abuse victim because the whole system is stacked against anyone who comes forward regardless of who they are! Today though I breathe a little easier because I can talk about it in public.
